Facebook Ad Library and Meta ads library: what is in the public record

The Facebook Ad Library, now officially the Meta Ad Library, holds every active ad on Facebook and Instagram. Anyone can open it, no account needed. Using it for real research is the chore: there is no good sorting, no tagging, and no way to keep the ads you like for later.

AdEye does the same job for the other big library: it reads Google\'s Ads Transparency Center, tags each creative by hook, angle and format on the paid plans, and shows which ads are working based on run length. ‼️ It does not read Meta\'s library, so Facebook and Instagram ads are not in AdEye and the Meta Ad Library below remains the place to look for those. Nothing behind a login, just the public ads, organized the way a marketer actually thinks.

GOOGLE ADS TRANSPARENCY

Run length on every ad

AI-tagged hooks & angles

Why it works

What the Facebook Ad Library gives you here

Clean ad feed

A brand's public Google ads in one place, with no clutter and no manual scrolling. Facebook and Instagram ads are not covered.

Smart tags

AI labels every creative with its hook, angle, and format so patterns are obvious at a glance.

Keep what you find

Save a creative to a board and it stays there with its run length after the ad comes down.

What it surfaces

Every ad card carries the hook, angle and a working signal

You type a brand or a domain. AdEye pulls that advertiser's live public Google ads into one feed and AI-tags each creative on the paid plans, so you read the strategy and spot the long-running winners before you save a single one.

  • Browse a brand's public Google ads fast
  • Tag every ad by hook and angle
  • Spot which creatives are scaling

Why AdEye

One feed, the AI read, the working signal in view

Not a stale doc full of screenshots. One query for a brand, the run length on every creative, and a swipe file worth reopening. Public ad-library data only.

Every Google ad at once

The Google Ads Transparency Center searched by brand or domain, so competitor ad research is one query instead of clicking through Google's own viewer.

The AI reads the why

Creatives are tagged with their hook, angle and format on the paid plans, a few per search and kept once read, and a working signal flags the long-runners, so you see why an ad works, not just what it ran.

A swipe file that stays current

Save winners to boards, each keeping its run length and a link back to the original creative on Google, so the file is still useful months later.

Questions about facebook ad library

The Meta Ad Library is a free, public, searchable database of every ad currently running across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Meta publishes it for advertising transparency, so anyone can look up a brand and see its live creatives. No account, no login and no ad spend required.
Yes. They are the same tool under two names. It launched as the Facebook Ad Library and was renamed the Meta Ad Library when Facebook rebranded to Meta, since it now covers Instagram and Messenger too. Both names point at the same public archive at facebook.com/ads/library.
Not for normal commercial ads. The Meta Ad Library publishes spend ranges and impressions only for political, election and social-issue ads. For everything else you see the creative and its start date but no budget. Run length is the honest proxy for what is working.
No. AdEye reads Google's Ads Transparency Center, not Meta's Ad Library, so it does not return Facebook or Instagram ads at all. For those, Meta's own library is free and is the authoritative source.
Each search reads the Google Ads Transparency Center live, so you see what is running at the moment you ask. Every ad carries its first-seen date and run length, which separates fresh tests from long-running proven creatives. AdEye does not watch advertisers in the background or notify you between searches.
Open the library, pick a country, set the category to "All ads" and type a keyword instead of a Page name. Meta then returns ads whose text contains that word. Keyword search is broad and noisy in the native tool, since it matches any advertiser in the country, which is why filtering by hook and angle afterwards saves most of the time.
Three usual reasons: the brand has no ads running right now, since the library only shows active commercial ads; you are searching a product name rather than the exact Facebook Page name; or your country filter is set somewhere the brand does not advertise. Try the Page name exactly as it appears on Facebook, with the country set to United States.
Yes. Meta ads are bought across placements, so the same library covers Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Audience Network. An ad you see in the library may be running on Instagram Reels, in the Facebook feed, or both. The library does not always make the placement obvious, but the creative is the same asset.
For ordinary commercial ads it is a live snapshot: you see what is running now, plus each ad's start date, and ads disappear once they stop. Political and social-issue ads are archived for seven years. That means competitive history is something you have to capture as it happens, which is why ongoing tracking beats a one-off search.
Select the brand's Page from the Ad Library dropdown rather than pressing enter on typed text. The library then lists every live ad for that one advertiser with a start date on each. Picking the Page is what pins results to a single company instead of keyword-matching ad copy across the whole country.
It is the URL parameter Meta uses to show every ad belonging to one Facebook Page, and the number after it is that Page ID. The resulting link is a stable shortcut straight to one advertiser's active ads, which is why it turns up in shared competitive research links.
Not in the native tool. Meta matches on Page name and ad text, never on the advertiser's domain, so a company whose Page name differs from its website looks like it is not advertising at all. Take the exact Page name from the company's Facebook profile before concluding anything.
Meta moved it. The old About then Page Transparency route now returns nothing on most pages, so people assume it was deleted. It was relocated: click the Page name at the top of the profile and scroll to the transparency and details area. The panel lists the Page ID and links into the Ad Library for that advertiser.
