Instagram ad library: where Instagram ads are published and how to search them

There is no separate Instagram ad library. Instagram ads live inside the Meta Ad Library at facebook.com/ads/library, the free public database of every ad running across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network. Because Meta runs one ad system across both apps, searching a brand once returns its Instagram and Facebook creatives together, and you can filter the results down to the Instagram placement.

That public tool is built for disclosure, not research. It has no way to sort by what is actually working, no run-length tracking, no format or hook filters, and it forgets everything the moment you close the tab. So people open it, scroll a competitor's dozens of live ads, and leave with screenshots and no real read on which creatives are earning budget.

To be clear about what this site does: AdEye does not read the Meta Ad Library, so it cannot show you Instagram ads. Meta's free tool is the only source for those, and this page is a guide to using it well.

What AdEye does is the same job on a different library. It reads the Google Ads Transparency Center, so a brand name or a domain returns that advertiser's live Google Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube ads, AI-tagged by hook, angle and format, with run length so the ads a brand is scaling separate themselves from this week's tests. Nothing here comes from behind a login.

Google Ads Transparency has no ads on record for that search. Google indexes ads by advertiser, so the brand's exact domain works best, for example nike.com.
Google Ads Transparency has no ads on record for . That is an answer about the brand, not a problem with the search: they are not running Google ads that Google publishes, or they advertise under a different registered name.
We could not reach Google Ads Transparency just now, so this is not a result about that brand, we simply could not look. Please try again in a moment. This search has not been counted against your allowance.

GOOGLE ADS TRANSPARENCY

Run length on every ad

AI-tagged hooks & angles

Why it works

What the Instagram ad library shows you

One library, both apps

Meta runs a single ad system across Facebook and Instagram, so one search in Meta's library returns both, and you can filter to the Instagram placement. There is no separate Instagram library to hunt for.

Nothing is sorted for you

The Meta Ad Library lists ads in no useful order and offers no run-length view, so judging which Instagram creative is carrying budget means reading start dates one card at a time. AdEye applies that ranking to Google ads, which is a different library.

What to record while it is live

Ordinary commercial ads leave the library when they stop running, so anything worth referencing later has to be captured now. Note the hook, the angle and the format alongside the screenshot, because that is what makes a swipe file searchable.

What it surfaces

Every ad card carries the hook, angle and a working signal

You type a brand or a domain. AdEye pulls that advertiser's live public Google ads into one feed and AI-tags each creative on the paid plans, so you read the strategy and spot the long-running winners before you save a single one.

  • Find any brand's Instagram ads in Meta's free library
  • Filter Meta's results to the Instagram placement
  • Look up the same brand's Google ads in AdEye
  • Read hook, angle and format on each Google creative
  • Sort Google ads by run length to find proven ads
  • Save a brand's ads to a board with their run length
  • Public ad-library data only

Why AdEye

One feed, the AI read, the working signal in view

Not a stale doc full of screenshots. One query for a brand, the run length on every creative, and a swipe file worth reopening. Public ad-library data only.

Every Google ad at once

The Google Ads Transparency Center searched by brand or domain, so competitor ad research is one query instead of clicking through Google's own viewer.

The AI reads the why

Creatives are tagged with their hook, angle and format on the paid plans, a few per search and kept once read, and a working signal flags the long-runners, so you see why an ad works, not just what it ran.

A swipe file that stays current

Save winners to boards, each keeping its run length and a link back to the original creative on Google, so the file is still useful months later.

Good questions

Questions about instagram ad library

Yes, though not as a standalone tool. Instagram ads are published in the Meta Ad Library at facebook.com/ads/library, the same public database that holds Facebook ads. Meta runs one ad system across both apps, so a single search returns a brand's Instagram and Facebook creatives together, filterable to the Instagram placement.
Open facebook.com/ads/library in any browser, no login or Meta account needed. Choose your country, set the type to All ads, and search the brand name. You can also reach it from a brand's Instagram profile by tapping the three dots, choosing About This Account, then Active ads.
Search the brand name in the Meta Ad Library and pick the advertiser from the dropdown, then use the platform filter to show only Instagram placements. If the native search does not resolve the brand, check the exact Page name on their Facebook profile, since the library matches Page names rather than handles or domains.
Yes. Inside an advertiser's results the ad library has a platform filter where you can select Instagram to hide Facebook, Messenger and Audience Network placements. Keep in mind many ads run across several placements at once, so a creative shown on Instagram may also appear when you view the Facebook filter.
Yes. The Meta Ad Library is completely free and open to anyone, with no account required, because Meta publishes it as an advertising transparency disclosure. AdEye does not read the Meta library at all, so for Instagram ads the free Meta library is your source. AdEye does the equivalent job for Google ads.
You never need to follow an account. The Meta Ad Library shows any advertiser's live ads publicly, so you can research a competitor without them knowing and without an Instagram account. AdEye works the same way on Google's record, reading only public transparency data for whatever brand you look up.
Not for ordinary commercial advertisers. Spend ranges and impression counts are published only for political and social issue ads. For a normal brand you see the creatives and how long each has been running, which is why run length is the practical proxy for what is working.
The native Meta Ad Library shows ads that are currently active plus a limited window of recently inactive ones, and it keeps no long history for commercial advertisers. If you want to watch how a brand's Instagram creative changes over time, you have to capture it yourself while it is live. AdEye keeps that kind of history, but for Google ads rather than Instagram ones.
Usually one of three reasons: the brand is not running ads right now, you searched a product or website instead of the exact page name, or you are on the wrong country filter. The ad library matches page names, not domains, so take the exact page name from the brand's Facebook profile when the native search comes back empty.
Yes. The ad library includes ads across Instagram placements, including feed, Stories and Reels, because they are all part of the same campaign record. The native library does not let you filter to Reels or Stories specifically, so you read the placement labels on each card.
Yes. Meta publishes the Ad Library deliberately, as an advertising transparency disclosure, and it is open to anyone without an account. AdEye reads only public transparency data too, Google's. Nothing on this page involves private data, a brand's ad account, or anything behind a login.
