Google ads for addiction treatment centers with a rival ad spy tool

AdEye lets a treatment center, its marketing director or its agency type a rival provider's website and see that advertiser's live Google ads across Search, Display and YouTube, read from Google's Ads Transparency Center. Each ad carries a first-seen date and a run length, and the feed puts the longest-running ads first. In a category where a click is expensive and the admissions team can only take so many calls, reading what nearby programs keep paying for is a cheap step before you set a budget.

Addiction services is one of the few ad categories Google gates by certification. In the United States, Google's policy change log states that advertisers "will need to be certified by LegitScript as addiction services providers before they can advertise through Google Ads," and that certified US advertisers "must also be certified by Google before they can begin advertising." Sober homes and referral agencies are named as not eligible. That means the rivals whose ads you can read are a filtered group, and the wording you see has already cleared review. Our general Google Ads for therapists page covers the mental health side of the same policy family, and the Google Ads spy tool page explains the lookup itself.

The search box on this page gives you a one-time demo of 10 searches with no card. Paid plans start at $60 a month, or $30 billed yearly, with daily new-ad alerts on a watch list. AdEye covers Google only. It does not show Meta ads, keywords, bids, call volume or spend, and nothing here is legal or compliance advice.

Why it works

What rival treatment centers' Google ads show a certified provider before the next campaign

Read the ads of providers that passed Google's gate

A treatment center cannot buy its way into this category. In the US, Google requires LegitScript certification first and Google's own certification second, and not every addiction service qualifies. When you search a rival's domain in AdEye, you read what a certified advertiser is allowed to say about residential, outpatient or detox services. That is a more useful reference than a competitor's website copy, because the ad is the version that survived Google's review. Check the advertiser name before grouping results, especially when a parent company runs several facility sites.

Separate the level of care before comparing offers

Detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and aftercare answer different needs and cost the family very different amounts. Group the ads you read by the service they name, not by the brand. A rival's 24-hour admissions line is a different promise from a weekly evening program for working adults. Look at what the ad asks the person to do next, such as call, verify insurance or start an assessment, and compare that step with your own intake process so you do not advertise something your team cannot deliver on the first call.

Use run length as a signal, not a verdict

AdEye shows when each ad was first seen and how long it has run, and it sorts the longest runners first. A message that has been live for months is one the rival has kept funding, which makes it worth reading closely. It does not prove the ad produces admissions, and a provider may leave creative running for reasons unrelated to results. Use it to decide which three or four messages to test against, then judge your own campaign on qualified calls and admissions that reach intake.

Watch the claims, not just the keywords

Treatment advertising draws scrutiny for outcome promises and for how insurance is described. Reading approved rival ads shows how nearby providers word insurance acceptance, level of care and location without overpromising. AdEye does not show the keywords behind an ad or tell you what triggered it, so it will not replace your own search term report. What it gives you is the visible message, side by side, so your copywriter starts from what is already running in your market.

Keep auction data, call tracking and this research apart

Auction Insights in your own Google Ads account lists the domains that share your auctions and reports metrics such as impression share. Take those domains into AdEye to read the ads behind the names. AdEye does not supply a rival's spend, keyword list or call volume, and it does not replace the call tracking and admissions records that tell you which of your own ads pay back. On the paid plans, a daily watch list emails you when a followed provider launches a new ad.

Why AdEye

One feed, the AI read, the working signal in view

Not a stale doc full of screenshots. One query for a brand, the run length on every creative, and a swipe file worth reopening. Public ad-library data only.

Every Google ad at once

The Google Ads Transparency Center searched by brand or domain, so competitor ad research is one query instead of clicking through Google's own viewer.

The AI reads the why

Creatives are tagged with their hook, angle and format on the paid plans, a few per search and kept once read, and a working signal flags the long-runners, so you see why an ad works, not just what it ran.

A swipe file that stays current

Save winners to boards, each keeping its run length and a link back to the original creative on Google, so the file is still useful months later.

Good questions

Questions about addiction treatment google ads spy tool

Yes, in the United States, but only after certification. Google's policy change log says US advertisers must be certified by LegitScript as addiction services providers and then certified by Google before they begin advertising. Outside the United States, ads for addiction services are currently not allowed. Not every provider is eligible, so check the current rules before you build a campaign.
Google's change log says services not eligible for LegitScript certification, such as sober homes and referral agencies, are not allowed to advertise drug and alcohol addiction services on Google. The policy covers clinical treatment providers, recovery support services, lead generators and crisis hotlines. Read the current Healthcare and medicines policy before assuming your service type qualifies.
Yes, for US addiction services. Google states that advertisers must be certified by LegitScript as addiction services providers, and that LegitScript charges a fee for processing and monitoring, with fee waivers possible in some circumstances. Certified advertisers must then be certified by Google. Check LegitScript's own site for the current application steps and fees.
Yes, look up the provider's domain in Google's Ads Transparency Center or in AdEye to read its available current ads. AdEye brings Search, Display and YouTube creative into a feed with first-seen dates and run length. Confirm the advertiser identity first, since one company can run several facility sites under one advertiser record.
Costs vary widely by market, level of care and competition, and treatment terms are among the more expensive in healthcare. Use Keyword Planner in your own Google Ads account for local estimates, then measure cost per qualified call and cost per admission. AdEye's subscription is a research cost, separate from what your facility pays Google.
No. AdEye shows creative from Google's Ads Transparency Center with dates and run length, not keywords, bids, spend or call volume. A phrase in an ad does not establish the search term that triggered it. Auction Insights in your own account gives you auction comparison metrics for eligible reporting.
No. Run length shows how long an ad has appeared in the record, not whether it produced admissions. Use it to decide which messages to read first and compare established offers with recent tests. Your own call tracking, intake records and admission costs show whether a message works for your facility.
Yes, the paid plans include a daily watch list with email alerts for new ads. Add the providers you want to follow and review newly detected creative in context. A daily check supports campaign planning, but it is not a real-time notification of every change inside a rival's account.
Open Auction Insights in your own Google Ads account to see the domains that share your auctions when data is available. Then look those domains up in AdEye to read their current messages. Separate local programs, national brands and out-of-state centers that recruit from your market before comparing offers.
Yes, an agency can organize selected ads on a separate board for each facility or level of care. Pair that research with each client's own auction reports and admissions data to explain the next creative test. CSV export on the paid plans supports client reviews, and each competitor's visible message stays separate from assumptions about its budget.
No. AdEye covers Google Transparency Center ads and does not show Local Services Ads, Facebook or Instagram ads, or TikTok ads. If a center has no visible Google ads, that does not establish whether it advertises elsewhere. Keep each channel's research separate when comparing competitors.
State the level of care, the location, how a person can verify insurance and the next step, and keep every claim accurate. Avoid outcome promises you cannot document. Read approved rival ads to see how nearby certified providers phrase these points, then write the version that matches what your intake team actually offers.
AdEye costs $60, $99, $300 and $600 a month, or $30, $49.50, $150 and $300 a month billed yearly, for 500, 2,000, 10,000 or 20,000 searches respectively, plus a one-time demo. Choose the allowance that matches your research workload. The subscription covers the research tool, while advertising spend stays separate.
Yes, domain research also works for other practices whose ads appear in the Ads Transparency Center. Our guides to Google Ads for therapists and Google Ads for med spas explain those markets. Check the policy requirements for each profession rather than carrying treatment wording into another client's campaign.
