Check competitors' Google ads and see, find or view every live ad a rival runs

To check or see a competitor's Google ads, search their domain or brand name in Google's Ads Transparency Center, or in AdEye, which reads the same public record and returns every live Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube ad in one feed, sorted by how long each has run. Google does not publish a rival's keywords, bids or budget anywhere, so the ads themselves are the part you can check with certainty.

Typing your own keywords into Google and scrolling past the sponsored results shows you a thin, personalized slice: whatever one competitor happened to serve to you, at that minute, in your ZIP code. You miss their Display and YouTube creative entirely, you cannot tell a three-day test from an ad they have funded all year, and every search you run adds an impression to their account. Google's free Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool fixes the impression problem for Search, but not the rest.

AdEye is built for the check most buyers actually want to make. Enter a competitor's domain in the search box above, and it pulls their current Google ads across every surface, marks the date each creative first appeared, and on paid plans tags the hook, angle and format. Save the ones worth keeping to a board, then run the same check on the next rival. Plans are $60, $99, $300 and $600 a month, or $30, $49.50, $150 and $300 billed yearly, for 500, 2,000, 10,000 or 20,000 searches, and there is a one-time demo so you can check a competitor before you pay. For keyword and bid estimates, see our PPC spy tools comparison.

Google Ads Transparency has no ads on record for that search. Google indexes ads by advertiser, so the brand's exact domain works best, for example nike.com.
Google Ads Transparency has no ads on record for . That is an answer about the brand, not a problem with the search: they are not running Google ads that Google publishes, or they advertise under a different registered name.

Why it works

What you can see about a competitor's Google ads, and where each piece comes from

The ads themselves, observed word for word

Every verified Google advertiser's creative is published in the Ads Transparency Center. That covers Search text ads, Shopping listings, Display banners and YouTube video. It is the advertiser's own approved ad, not a reconstruction, so you can quote it in a client deck or a creative brief without a caveat. AdEye searches that record by domain or brand name and returns the lot in one feed instead of one format and one region at a time.

How long each ad has run is the closest honest signal of what works

Nobody can show you a competitor's conversion rate. What you can see is how long they have kept paying for an ad. An ad that has run for three months is one the advertiser keeps renewing, which usually means it earns its budget. AdEye marks the first-seen date on every creative and sorts by run length, so the long runners rise to the top and the one-week tests sink.

Your own Auction Insights shows who you compete with in the auction

Inside your own Google Ads account, Auction Insights lists the domains that appear in your auctions, with six statistics for Search, such as overlap rate and outranking share, and three for Shopping. It is free and authoritative, and it shows no creative at all. Google also withholds it when your impression share is under 10 percent. The practical workflow is to take the top domains from Auction Insights and then check what each one is saying.

Keywords, bids and budgets are estimated, never seen

Google never publishes another advertiser's keyword list, bids or spend. Tools that show those numbers, including SpyFu, Semrush and Adbeat, estimate them by running searches at scale and working backwards. Those estimates are useful for direction, but they miss Performance Max, tight geo targeting and most low-volume brand terms. If a page promises to show you exactly what a competitor spends on Google, it is showing you a model.

A record you keep after the ad stops

Once an ordinary commercial ad stops running, you cannot count on finding it again later. If a competitor's ad matters to you, save it while it is live. AdEye boards keep the creative, the advertiser, the format and the dates together, so the ad your rival ran last quarter is still there when the client asks why their new campaign looks familiar. CSV export of a board is available on the paid plans.

Four ways to see a competitor's Google ads, compared

Each method answers a different part of the question. This is what each one shows, what it misses and what it costs.

Why AdEye

One feed, the AI read, the working signal in view

Not a stale doc full of screenshots. One query for a brand, the run length on every creative, and a swipe file worth reopening. Public ad-library data only.

Every Google ad at once

The Google Ads Transparency Center searched by brand or domain, so competitor ad research is one query instead of clicking through Google's own viewer.

The AI reads the why

Creatives are tagged with their hook, angle and format on the paid plans, a few per search and kept once read, and a working signal flags the long-runners, so you see why an ad works, not just what it ran.

A swipe file that stays current

Save winners to boards, each keeping its run length and a link back to the original creative on Google, so the file is still useful months later.

Good questions

Questions about see competitors' google ads

Search the competitor's domain or brand in Google's Ads Transparency Center, which lists the ads a verified advertiser has run on Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube. AdEye reads the same record and returns all of a competitor's live ads in one feed sorted by run length, so you can check several rivals in minutes and save the ads that matter.
Look the competitor up by domain in Google's Ads Transparency Center and set the format filter to image, or search the same domain in AdEye, which returns its Display banners next to its Search, Shopping and YouTube ads with a run length on each. Display ads are hard to catch by browsing, because they follow audiences rather than searches, so reading the advertiser record is the only reliable way to see the full set. Our display ads spy tool page covers the display workflow in detail.
Never click a competitor's ad to research it, since that costs them money and muddies their data. Use Google's Ad Preview and Diagnosis tool inside your Google Ads account to see Search results without adding impressions, or search their domain in the Transparency Center or AdEye, which show the ads without serving them to you at all.
Not directly. Google never publishes another advertiser's keyword list. Tools like SpyFu and Semrush estimate it by running large numbers of searches and recording which ads appear. The estimates are useful for spotting obvious terms and gaps, but they miss Performance Max and tightly geo-targeted campaigns. Our PPC spy tools guide compares them.
You cannot see it, because Google keeps every advertiser's spend private. Third-party spend figures are estimates built from assumed traffic and CPCs, and they can be far off. The honest proxy is run length: an ad a competitor has kept live for months is one they keep choosing to fund. AdEye sorts every ad by that signal.
Search the competitor in the Ads Transparency Center and filter by image format, or search their domain in AdEye, where Display banners appear in the same feed as their Search and YouTube ads. Display ads rarely show up when you simply browse, because they depend on targeting, so a direct lookup is the only reliable way to check them.
Look them up by domain. If a verified advertiser has run ads recently, the Transparency Center and AdEye will return them. An empty result usually means they are not advertising on Google right now, are running under a different advertiser name, such as a parent company or agency account, or have not completed advertiser verification.
Yes. Google records when each creative was shown, and AdEye turns that into a first-seen date and a run length on every ad, then sorts by it. Long-running ads are the most useful thing to study, because an advertiser does not keep paying for an ad that loses money month after month.
Google does not publish a fixed retention window for ordinary commercial ads in the Transparency Center, so treat anything no longer running as something you may not find again. Political ads are archived much longer, and ads served in the EU are kept for a year after they stop under the Digital Services Act. Save anything important while it is live.
Yes. Google publishes the Transparency Center so anyone can see who advertises and what they run. Studying competitor ads to shape your own messaging is ordinary market research. The line is copying: using a competitor's trademark in your ad text in a confusing way breaks Google's trademark policy, and lifting their creative wholesale invites a complaint.
Because ads are targeted. A competitor may bid only in certain cities, at certain hours, on devices other than yours, or may have hit their daily budget. Google also personalizes results. That is why searching yourself is an unreliable way to check, and why a lookup by advertiser in the Transparency Center or AdEye gives a far more complete picture.
Yes. YouTube ads bought through Google Ads are part of the same advertiser record. Search the competitor in AdEye and their video ads appear alongside Search, Shopping and Display creative, with run length on each. For a video-focused workflow, see our YouTube ad spy tool page.
For the ads themselves, a tool that reads Google's own Transparency Center record is the most accurate, because it shows real approved creative rather than a sample. AdEye does that across every Google surface and sorts by run length. For estimated keywords and spend, SpyFu and Semrush are the usual choices. Many teams use one of each.
The Transparency Center and Auction Insights are free. AdEye costs $60, $99, $300 or $600 a month for 500, 2,000, 10,000 or 20,000 searches, or $30, $49.50, $150 and $300 a month billed yearly. Keyword estimate tools start at $39 a month for SpyFu Basic. The full market is laid out on our ad spy tool pricing page.
Yes. In AdEye each search is one competitor, and you can keep a separate board per client so research does not mix. The Agency plan covers 10,000 searches a month on one login. Agencies usually pair it with Auction Insights from each client account to decide which competitors are worth tracking. More on that on our ad spy tool for agencies page.
Yes, on the paid plans. Add the advertiser to your watch list and AdEye re-checks them once a day, then emails you the ads Google has started showing that it had not seen before. Every ad it has ever surfaced for you is also kept with the date it first appeared for you, so a check of your own shows exactly what launched since you last looked. For a structured routine around that, see our competitor ad monitoring page.
No. AdEye covers Google only: Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube. For Meta ads, Meta's own Ad Library is the public source, and for TikTok, its Creative Center. If most of a competitor's budget is on Meta, check there as well before drawing conclusions from their Google activity alone.
Start with the longest-running ads, since those are the ones they keep paying for. Note the offer, the main promise in the headline, any price or guarantee, and where the ad sends people. Then compare three or four competitors side by side: the angles they all converge on are table stakes, and the gaps are where your own ads can stand out.
