VidTao costs $87 a month on Premium Monthly or $797 a year on the Yearly Membership, which works out to about $66 a month. There is also a free Basic account with basic search and 100 affiliate searches. Premium Monthly comes with a 24-hour free trial, and the Yearly plan carries a 7-day money-back guarantee. VidTao covers YouTube video ads only.

Those numbers come from VidTao's own pricing page and its yearly offer page. They are worth stating plainly because the pages ranking for this question disagree with each other. One review site still quotes $67 a month. VidTao's own help center, in an article last updated about a year ago, describes the yearly plan as "just ~$54/month". Group-buy sites advertise shared logins for a few dollars. None of that is what you will be charged at checkout today. Below is the current price list, what each plan includes, how the trial and refunds really work, and how VidTao compares with the other tools a YouTube advertiser is likely weighing.

How much does VidTao cost?

VidTao costs $87 a month billed monthly, or $797 a year billed annually. Those are the only two paid options on the public pricing page. The yearly page presents the annual plan as "$66/month, billed annually at $797 per year + tax if applicable", and says it saves $247, which matches the math: twelve months at $87 is $1,044, and $1,044 minus $797 is $247.

PlanPriceEffective monthly costTrial or guaranteeWhat it adds
Free BasicNo chargeNoneNot neededBasic search and results, 100 affiliate searches
Premium Monthly$87 a month$8724-hour free trial; refund request within 24 hours of purchaseAdvanced search, filtering and results; unlimited affiliate advertiser module
Yearly Membership$797 a year, plus tax where applicableAbout $667-day money-back guaranteeEverything in Monthly, plus community access, expert feedback, direct YouTube linking and priority feature access

Two details on that table matter before you pay. First, the yearly plan is the only one with a real guarantee window. Second, the tax line: the yearly page says "+ tax if applicable", so a US buyer in a state that taxes digital services should expect the checkout total to be a little higher than $797.

What do you get on Free Basic, Premium Monthly and Yearly?

The free account is a sample. VidTao's pricing grid gives it the basic module (ad, brand and advertiser search, ad details, basic brand and company information) and caps the affiliate module at 100 searches. It is enough to see whether the database covers the advertisers in your niche. It is not enough to judge the analysis you would be paying for.

Premium Monthly unlocks the working tools. The pricing page lists advanced search and filtering, an unlimited affiliate advertiser module, category searches across video ads, brands and advertisers, detailed brand and advertiser analysis, ad spend and testing volume analysis, charts and performance metrics, tracking the life cycle of winning ads, landing page and funnel insights, a swipes page for saving ads, and a library of training on YouTube media buying, copy and production. The yearly page adds that the affiliate module shows YouTube ads from ClickBank, Digistore24, BuyGoods and other networks, and it describes more than 150 premium trainings.

The Yearly Membership includes all of that and four extras: a private Discord community, expert advice and feedback from the Inceptly team (a YouTube ad agency VidTao works with), direct YouTube linking so you can share an ad's YouTube link with a teammate or paste it into a transcription tool, and priority access to new features. Direct linking is the one practical difference for a working team, because on the monthly plan you cannot hand a colleague the YouTube link to an ad you found.

Does VidTao have a free trial?

Yes, but it is short. Premium Monthly includes a 24-hour free trial with full access to the Premium features, according to VidTao's help center, and you are not charged if you cancel before the trial ends. There is no 7-day trial; the help center answers that question directly. The 7-day window belongs to the yearly plan and is a money-back guarantee on a paid purchase, not a trial.

Twenty-four hours is enough if you prepare. Before you start the trial, write down five advertisers you already know well: two direct competitors, two brands you admire in your category, and one affiliate offer you have seen on YouTube. Search each one as soon as the trial opens, check whether VidTao finds ads you had not seen, and look at whether the landing page and funnel data is accurate for the one offer you know inside out. If the database finds nothing new about the advertisers you care about, cancel before the clock runs out. Our guide to which ad spy tools offer a free trial compares how other vendors handle this.

Can you get a refund from VidTao?

Only inside tight windows. VidTao's help center says you can request a refund within 24 hours of purchase for Monthly Premium plans, or within 7 days for Yearly Memberships, by emailing support. After those windows the charge stands. To cancel, the help center points you to Settings, then Plan, then Cancel Plan, and premium access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

The practical reading: on the monthly plan the trial and the refund window are both 24 hours, so your real decision point is the first day. On the yearly plan you get a week to decide whether $797 was the right call. If you are not sure the tool fits, the monthly route costs you $87 at most after the trial, while a wrong yearly purchase you notice on day eight costs $797.

What does VidTao cover, and what does it miss?

VidTao covers YouTube video ads, and deliberately nothing else. Its help center says the platform is "purpose-built to focus exclusively on YouTube video ads", adding that some company pages occasionally show related Display ads picked up through funnel tracking. Within YouTube it is deep: keyword search across ad titles, descriptions and channel names, country and language filters, transcripts, ad duration filters for finding direct-response ads, and funnel analysis from ad to landing page. For an affiliate or direct-response media buyer scaling on YouTube, that focus is the reason to buy it.

What it does not cover is the rest of Google. A competitor who runs YouTube ads usually also runs Search text ads on their brand and category terms, and often Display and Shopping. Those ads tell you the offer and the price point a rival is willing to pay for at the bottom of the funnel, where the searcher already has a card out. VidTao is not built to show them. Google's own Ads Transparency Center lists a verified advertiser's ads across Search, YouTube, Display, Maps and Shopping, and a YouTube ad spy tool built on that record, like AdEye, returns a competitor's YouTube videos next to their Search and Display ads, sorted by how long each one has run.

VidTao vs AdEye, Semrush and Pipiads on price and coverage

Buyers looking at VidTao are usually choosing between a YouTube specialist, an all-Google tool, and a bundled suite. This is how they compare on the numbers each vendor publishes.

ToolEntry priceYearly optionPlatformsBest for
VidTao$87 a month$797 a year (about $66 a month)YouTube onlyDirect-response and affiliate YouTube research, transcripts, funnels
AdEye$60 a month$30 a month billed yearlyGoogle Search, Shopping, Display, YouTubeSeeing every Google ad a named competitor runs, ranked by run length
Semrush Advertising$99 a monthSame price billed annuallyGoogle Search ads, keyword estimatesPPC keyword and ad copy research inside an SEO suite
Pipiads$49 a month (list $69)Annual toggle advertisedTikTok, FacebookTikTok product and creative research

The honest reading: VidTao wins on YouTube depth. AdEye does not have transcripts, keyword search across all YouTube ads, affiliate network data or funnel tracking, and if your whole job is finding scaling YouTube offers, VidTao is the specialist. AdEye wins on breadth across Google and on price: $60 a month shows you a named competitor's YouTube ads alongside the Search, Shopping and Display ads VidTao leaves out, and the Agency plan at $300 covers 10,000 searches for teams working across many clients. Semrush's advertising toolkit is a keyword tool first; our Semrush Advertising Toolkit pricing guide covers what its $99 and $220 tiers include. Pipiads is a TikTok tool; see our Pipiads pricing breakdown. The whole market is laid out on our ad spy tool pricing page.

Is VidTao worth it?

VidTao is worth $87 a month if YouTube is your main paid channel and you will use the parts that make it a specialist: the affiliate module, transcripts, duration filters and funnel analysis. For that buyer, the yearly plan is usually the better deal after one good month, because it saves $247 and adds direct YouTube linking, which a team needs to share what it finds.

It is harder to justify if YouTube is one channel among several. A brand whose competitors spend on Google Search and Shopping as much as on YouTube will get more from a tool that shows all of a rival's Google ads in one place, at a lower monthly price. And a research tool only pays for itself when the insight turns into new creative. Many teams find the gap is not ideas but production capacity, and bring in a vetted freelance video editor or scriptwriter to turn a winning angle into their own YouTube ad within the week.

A simple rule: if you are choosing a first tool and you can name your five main competitors, look them up in AdEye's one-time demo and see what they run across Google. If most of their spend is YouTube video and you need the funnel behind it, start VidTao's 24-hour trial with the same five names.

Frequently asked questions

How much is VidTao per month?

VidTao is $87 a month on the Premium Monthly plan. The Yearly Membership costs $797 a year, which VidTao presents as $66 a month billed annually, plus tax where applicable. A free Basic account exists with basic search and 100 affiliate searches. Older figures such as $67 a month or about $54 a month are out of date.

Is VidTao free?

There is a free Basic account, but it is limited to basic search, ad details and 100 affiliate searches. The advanced filters, full affiliate module, brand analysis, funnel insights and training sit behind Premium. The free account is useful for checking whether VidTao's database covers your niche before paying $87.

How long is the VidTao free trial?

The free trial lasts 24 hours and applies to the Premium Monthly plan, with full access to Premium features. VidTao's help center says there is no 7-day trial. If you cancel before the 24 hours end, you are not charged. Prepare a list of advertisers to check before you start it.

Does VidTao offer refunds?

Yes, within short windows. Monthly Premium purchases can be refunded if you request it within 24 hours; Yearly Memberships within 7 days, under the 7-day money-back guarantee. Requests go to VidTao support by email. Outside those windows, cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.

Does VidTao show Google Search or Display ads?

No, not as a feature. VidTao focuses exclusively on YouTube video ads and says only some company pages occasionally show related Display ads found through funnel tracking. For a competitor's Google Search, Shopping and Display ads, Google's Ads Transparency Center is the public source, and AdEye reads it by domain alongside their YouTube ads.

Is there a cheaper alternative to VidTao for YouTube ads?

Google's Ads Transparency Center is free and lists a verified advertiser's YouTube ads, one advertiser at a time. AdEye reads the same record for $60 a month, or $30 billed yearly, and adds run-length sorting, AI tags, saved boards and daily watch-list alerts across all Google surfaces. It lacks VidTao's transcripts, affiliate network data and funnel tracking.
