Adthena publishes fixed pricing for two products only: ChatGPT Ads Intelligence at $399 a month and AI Overview Insights at $350 a month, both with a 21-day free trial and no card required. Its paid search products, Brand Market View and Whole Market View, are custom quoted, and Adthena positions them at brands spending $500k and $1M or more a year on Google Ads. Adthena is one of the few competitive intelligence vendors that publishes any numbers at all, so the pricing question is really two questions: what are the listed prices actually for, and what does the part everyone wants cost. The listed prices cover the newer AI search products. The paid search intelligence that Adthena built its name on sits behind a quote, and the size of that quote tracks the size of your ad account.
How much does Adthena cost?
Two products carry a public price. ChatGPT Ads Intelligence is listed at $399 a month and AI Overview Insights at $350 a month, each with a 21-day free trial that does not ask for a credit card. Everything else is quoted. Adthena states that a custom price depends on the size of your search universe, the geographies you need covered, your reporting requirements and your annual PPC spend.
| Plan | Advertised price | Who it is positioned for |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Ads Intelligence | $399 a month | Brands and agencies tracking paid placement in ChatGPT |
| AI Overview Insights | $350 a month | Teams tracking visibility in Google AI Overviews |
| Brand Market View | Custom quote | Brands spending $500k or more a year on Google Ads |
| Whole Market View | Custom quote | Advertisers spending $1M or more a year on Google Ads |
| Category Market View (agencies) | Custom quote | Agencies, with Whole Market View positioned at $2M or more |
Those spend thresholds are the most useful figures on the page, and they are Adthena's own. They tell you who the product was priced for far more reliably than any dollar amount a review site quotes. Several third-party sites publish per-seat figures in the hundreds of dollars a month for Adthena; none of that is confirmed by the vendor, and repeating unverified numbers is how buyers end up in a demo call with the wrong expectation. Check adthena.com before you budget.
Does Adthena have a free trial?
Yes, but only on the two fixed-price products. Adthena advertises a 21-day free trial with no credit card required for ChatGPT Ads Intelligence and AI Overview Insights. The market view products that cover paid search competitor intelligence are sold through a quote and a demo instead, so evaluating those means talking to sales before you see the interface with your own data in it.
That split matters if you are shopping under time pressure. You can self-serve into the AI search products this afternoon. You cannot self-serve into the paid search product at all, and enterprise procurement on a custom quote is usually a multi-week process with a security review attached.
Why is Adthena priced by quote?
Because the cost of producing the data scales with what you ask it to cover. Adthena builds its market picture by crawling search results at scale across every term in a defined search universe, in every geography you care about, continuously. A retailer who wants one country and four hundred head terms is a fundamentally different workload from a global brand who wants twelve markets and a hundred thousand terms. Seat-based pricing would either overcharge the first or bankrupt the vendor on the second, so the quote follows the crawl.
The practical consequence for a buyer is that the lever you have in a negotiation is scope, not seats. Narrowing the search universe or dropping geographies moves the number. Asking for a discount on a fixed package generally does not.
Is Adthena worth it?
It is worth it when the decision you are making is a budget decision at scale. Share of clicks against every rival, whitespace you are not bidding into, a competitor increasing spend in your best category, someone bidding on your trademark this morning: on a seven-figure search account, catching any one of those early pays for the contract. Adthena also attaches an infringement takedown service to its brand protection, which turns trademark policing from a task somebody remembers to do into a monitored process.
It is not worth it when your Google spend is a rounding error next to those thresholds. If you spend a few thousand dollars a month, an enterprise market model prices you for a picture far larger than your account, and the same money does more inside the ad budget or on producing new creative. That is doubly true for video, where the constraint on most small accounts is not knowing what the market is doing but having enough footage to test, and a run of AI-generated UGC video ads costs a fraction of a single month of enterprise reporting.
What Adthena pricing includes, and what it does not
| Capability | In an Adthena subscription |
|---|---|
| Paid search market share and share of clicks | Yes, in the market view products |
| Search term and whitespace analysis | Yes |
| Competitor and market shift alerts | Yes, through Smart Monitor |
| Brand bidding detection and infringement takedown | Yes |
| Google Shopping and Performance Max insights | Yes |
| ChatGPT ads and AI Overview tracking | Yes, as separately priced products |
| A browsable feed of live competitor ad creative | No, messaging is reported as trends and analysis |
| Run length on each individual creative | No |
| Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn ads | No, Adthena is a search intelligence company |
The last three rows are where teams get surprised after signing. Adthena tells you what a market is doing and where you stand in it. It does not hand you the competitor's actual ad, sorted by how long it has survived, which is the artifact a creative team needs before writing the next brief. Those are different jobs, and a market contract does not quietly include the second one.
Adthena pricing compared to the alternatives
| Tool | Entry cost | What the money buys |
|---|---|---|
| Adthena | $350 to $399 fixed, market views by quote | Market share, whitespace, alerting, brand protection |
| SpyFu | From $29 a month | Competitor keywords, bid history, estimated spend, SEO |
| Google Ads Transparency Center | Free | Live creative Google publishes, one advertiser at a time |
| AdEye | $32 a month billed yearly, $39 monthly | The same Google creative as a sortable feed, ranked by run length |
Only two of those answer the same question. Adthena and SpyFu both model the keyword and budget layer, at opposite ends of the market, and there is a fuller breakdown of the cheaper option in our SpyFu pricing guide. The Transparency Center and a Google ads spy tool built on top of it both report creative that Google has already published as fact, with no modeling layer and therefore no keyword data at all. A team that needs both usually buys one from each column, and at the low end that combination still costs less than a single enterprise seat.
Can you get Adthena brand protection on a smaller budget?
Not from Adthena, but the underlying job is partly doable by hand. What Adthena automates is continuous detection across a whole market. What you can do manually, for free, is search your own brand and each known rival in the Google Ads Transparency Center and read the Search ad text Google is actually serving. That is what tells you whether a competitor has crossed from bidding on your brand keyword, which Google permits, into putting your trademark in their ad copy, which it restricts.
That distinction decides whether a complaint goes anywhere, and it is readable in the creative itself. We covered the mechanics separately in our guide to filing a Google Ads trademark complaint, and the wider defensive playbook sits on our brand bidding page. The manual version has no alerting, which is the real thing an enterprise contract buys you, so be honest with yourself about how often you will remember to run it.
Who should buy Adthena, and who should not
Buy it if you run a large in-house search program, defend a category against named rivals, and need market movement in front of you as it happens rather than in a quarterly deck. At $500k a year in media, the reporting is a small percentage of spend and the decisions it informs are large.
Skip it if your work is creative-led or your account is small. If you win business by showing a prospect the ads their competitors are running right now and where the messaging gap sits, share-of-click charts are not what goes on screen, and the money is better spent on something that returns the creative itself. There is a direct feature-by-feature comparison on our Adthena alternative page, including the several places where Adthena is clearly the right purchase.
