BigSpy costs $69 a month on Starter, $159 on Growth, $399 on Scale and $499 on Ultimate when billed monthly. Billed yearly, the same plans work out to $49, $119, $299 and $399 a month, charged up front as $588, $1,428, $3,588 and $4,788. Starter covers Facebook and Instagram only: Google Ads, YouTube and TikTok start on Growth. Refunds are limited to system errors reported within 24 hours of the first payment.

If those numbers look higher than what you have read elsewhere, that is because most pages ranking for this question still describe an older price list: a $9 Basic plan, a $99 Pro plan, a $249 Group plan and a $1 trial. None of those appear on BigSpy's pricing page anymore. We rendered the vendor's own page in a browser, switched between the monthly and yearly toggles, and read the plan cards and the refund policy directly. Below is what BigSpy charges now, what each plan unlocks, and where it fits against the other tools a media buyer or ecommerce team is likely weighing.

How much does BigSpy cost?

BigSpy sells four self-service plans, all auto-renewing. The yearly toggle advertises "20 to 30% off", and the cards show the saving in dollars. Here is the full grid.

PlanMonthly billingYearly billing (per month)Charged per yearSeatsAd networks
Starter$69$49$588 (saves $240)1Facebook, Instagram
Growth$159$119$1,428 (saves $480)1Adds Twitter, TikTok, Pangle, Google Ads, YouTube
Scale$399$299$3,588 (saves $1,200)5 (1 owner, 4 members)Same as Growth
Ultimate$499$399$4,788 (saves $1,200)1Adds Pinterest, Yahoo, Unity Ads

BigSpy marks Growth as the recommended plan, and for most buyers it is the real entry point, because it is the first tier that goes beyond Meta. The pricing page accepts credit cards and Alipay, and a banner at the top reminds you that charges renew automatically every month or year until you cancel.

Why do other sites say BigSpy costs $9 a month?

They are quoting a plan structure BigSpy has since replaced. For years the product sold a cheap Basic tier, a Pro tier around $99 and a five-seat Group tier around $249, and affiliate reviews built their pages and coupon codes around those numbers. The current page has no Basic, Pro or Group plan and no $1 trial offer. The cheapest way into BigSpy today is Starter at $49 a month, and only if you pay for a full year at once.

This matters for budgeting. A team that planned for "$99 a month for everything" will find that the plan with Google Ads and YouTube costs $159 monthly or $1,428 a year, and that the five-seat plan is $399 rather than $249. Check the price at checkout before you commit, and treat any figure that still mentions Basic, Pro or Group as out of date.

Which BigSpy plan includes Google Ads and YouTube?

Growth is the cheapest BigSpy plan that includes Google Ads and YouTube. Its card lists Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pangle, Google Ads and YouTube, and Scale lists the same networks for five seats. Starter is Facebook and Instagram only, and Ultimate is the only plan that adds Pinterest, Yahoo and Unity Ads.

That makes the Starter plan a Meta tool and nothing else. If you picked BigSpy because it markets itself as a multi-platform ad spy tool, budget for Growth from day one. Starter also greys out Charts, Page and Domain Analysis, Page and Domain Subscriptions and the TikTok Shop sections, so the tracking side of the product begins on Growth as well.

What do the BigSpy plan limits mean in practice?

Every plan advertises unlimited queries, so searching itself is not rationed. What BigSpy meters is the work you do after you find an ad: downloading creatives, running AI searches, reading video copy and tracking pages. These are the numbers on each card.

LimitStarterGrowthScale (per seat)Ultimate
Creative downloads50 a day300 a day300 a day3,000 a day
AI Smart Search100 a day1,000 a day1,000 a day2,000 a day
AI Prompt100 a day500 a day500 a day1,000 a day

Tracked creatives100 total500 total500 total1,000 total
Page and domain subscriptionsNot included100 total100 total1,000 total
Industry switching3 a month3 a month3 a monthUnlimited

Two lines deserve attention. Page and domain subscriptions are how you follow a specific competitor over time, and Starter has none, so anyone who wants to watch named rivals needs Growth at minimum. The industry switching limit appears on every plan below Ultimate; the card does not explain it further, so if you research several unrelated niches, ask BigSpy's support how it affects your searches before you pay. Scale is simply Growth's limits multiplied across five people, which puts it at about $80 a seat on monthly billing and $60 a seat on yearly billing.

Does BigSpy have a free trial?

BigSpy's pricing page shows no free plan and no trial, only the four paid tiers. The $1 three-day trial that affiliate pages still promote is not offered on the vendor's page, so do not plan a test around it. What you can do is look around the product before you pay: BigSpy lets visitors browse part of its Facebook ad feed, which is enough to judge the interface but not the Google, YouTube or TikTok data that most multi-platform buyers are paying for.

A practical test is to take three competitors you already know well, pay for one month of Growth rather than a year, and check whether BigSpy finds ads for them you had not seen on each network you care about. If it does, the yearly plan saves $480. If it does not, cancel before the renewal date. Our guide to which ad spy tools offer a free trial covers how other vendors handle this.

Can you get a refund from BigSpy?

Only in narrow cases. BigSpy's refund policy says it does not issue refunds once an order is completed, with one exception: an error caused by a BigSpy system bug, reported within 24 hours of your first payment. Renewals, upgrades and repurchases are excluded, and the policy states plainly that lack of usage or dissatisfaction does not qualify. Paying yearly is therefore a real commitment of $588 to $4,788.

Three account rules are worth knowing before you choose a plan. You can upgrade by paying the price difference, but you cannot downgrade directly: you cancel, wait for the current period to end, then subscribe to the smaller plan. You cannot swap the card on an active subscription either; the same cancel and resubscribe route applies. And cancelling stops the next charge while leaving your plan active until it expires.

BigSpy vs AdSpy, Pipiads, VidTao and AdEye

Most people comparing BigSpy prices are choosing between a handful of ad spy tools with different strengths. This is how they line up on the prices each vendor publishes.

ToolEntry price (monthly)Cheapest plan with Google or YouTubePlatformsBest for
BigSpy$69 (Meta only)$159 Growth ($119 yearly)Meta, TikTok, Twitter, Pangle, Google Ads, YouTube; more on UltimateBroad browsing across many networks
AdSpy$149, one planNot coveredFacebook, InstagramAffiliates on Meta
Pipiads$49 (credit metered)Not coveredTikTok, FacebookTikTok product research
VidTao$87$87 (YouTube only)YouTubeDirect-response YouTube research
AdEye$60 ($30 billed yearly)$60, all plansGoogle Search, Shopping, Display, YouTubeA competitor's full set of Google ads by domain, sorted by run length

The honest reading: BigSpy wins on breadth. No other tool in that table reaches TikTok, Twitter, Pangle and Google in one login, and Ultimate adds networks nobody else here covers. AdSpy is the deeper Meta database, covered in our AdSpy pricing guide, and Pipiads is stronger on TikTok Shop, broken down in our Pipiads pricing page. VidTao is the YouTube specialist, priced in our VidTao pricing guide.

Where AdEye fits is narrower and cheaper. If the competitors you care about spend most of their budget on Google, you do not need a $159 multi-network plan to see those ads. AdEye reads Google's own Ads Transparency Center, returns a rival's Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube ads in one feed by domain, and sorts them by how long each has run, from $60 a month for 500 searches. Many teams pair one Meta or TikTok tool with one Google tool, and our ad spy tool pricing page lays out the whole market side by side.

Is BigSpy worth it?

BigSpy is worth $119 to $159 a month if you genuinely research across several networks each week, especially TikTok and Pangle alongside Meta, and if you will use the tracking features that start on Growth. For that buyer, a single login beats paying three specialist tools. Once you know which hooks and formats keep running in your niche, the next job is producing your own versions, and plenty of brands hand that to vetted UGC creators who film product videos rather than shooting in house.

BigSpy is poor value in two cases. The first is Starter for anyone who needs more than Meta: at $69 it is a Facebook and Instagram tool without competitor tracking, and AdSpy or the free Meta Ad Library may serve that job as well. The second is a team whose rivals mostly buy Google traffic. Search, Shopping and YouTube ads are where buyers with intent click, and a dedicated Google Shopping ads spy tool reads that record more directly for less than half of Growth's monthly price. Our BigSpy alternative page compares the two approaches in more detail.

Frequently asked questions

How much is BigSpy per month?

BigSpy is $69 a month on Starter, $159 on Growth, $399 on Scale and $499 on Ultimate with monthly billing. On yearly billing the same plans cost $49, $119, $299 and $399 a month, paid up front as $588, $1,428, $3,588 and $4,788. Scale includes five seats; every other plan includes one.

Is BigSpy free?

No. The current pricing page lists four paid plans and no free tier or trial. Visitors can browse part of BigSpy's Facebook ad feed before signing up, which shows how the interface works, but Google Ads, YouTube and TikTok data start on the $159 Growth plan.

Can I cancel BigSpy anytime?

Yes. You cancel from the subscription card in your account settings, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling does not trigger a refund: BigSpy only refunds errors caused by a system bug, reported within 24 hours of the first payment.

Can I downgrade my BigSpy plan?

Not directly. BigSpy lets you upgrade by paying the price difference, but to move to a smaller plan you have to cancel, let the current plan expire, and then subscribe to the cheaper tier. The same process applies if you want to change the card on file.

Does BigSpy show Google Ads?

Yes, on Growth, Scale and Ultimate. Starter covers Facebook and Instagram only. If Google is the only network you need, a tool built on Google's Ads Transparency Center, such as AdEye from $60 a month, shows a competitor's Search, Shopping, Display and YouTube ads by domain at a lower price than Growth.

What is the difference between BigSpy Scale and Ultimate?

Scale gives five seats with Growth's limits on each seat and the same networks as Growth, for $399 a month. Ultimate is one seat with much higher limits, unlimited industry switching and three extra networks (Pinterest, Yahoo and Unity Ads), for $499. Teams pick Scale; heavy solo researchers pick Ultimate.
